In a recent article written by Dan Walters for Sacramento Bee, Mr. Walters goes on the defensive in face of over 50 comments – most of which he categorizes as negative, in response to an article that pointed out that losing all “illegal” immigrants in the state of California would mean that over 2 million jobs would go unfilled.

One comment he quotes struck a chord with me:

“You and the open borders crowd won’t be happy until the flood of illegals turn this country into a Third World cesspool,” wrote one. “The state is fast becoming Mexican supporting millions of lawbreakers who broke the law by crossing our borders. … You people make me and the majority Americans who love this country sick.”

The question that I had for this particular writer is: What cesspool did your parents come from?  Mine came from Eastern Europe.  And guess what — they are now both part of the group that  “loves this country.”
